How It All Began

Schulman Paddleworks was founded in 2011 by the Schulman brothers after many decades directing a summer camp in Northern Michigan. Their skills were honed on the remote rivers and lakes of upper Michigan and Canada. From kayaking to paddleboarding to canoeing, the Schulman’s paddling expertise extends far and wide.

Bill and Jack began their paddling careers on a variety of rivers throughout the state: AuSable, Boardman, Sturgeon, Jordan, Manistee, Pigeon, and Two Hearted in the upper peninsula. In Canada, the brothers paddled Mij Lake, Ranger Lake, and the Agawa River. Their extensive knowledge of river-lake tripping is second to none.
